BIKE NERD STUFF.

Deep dive into the tech stuff.

What's up with the battery? What can I expect?

Both the 12" and the 16" KITebikes have a 5Ah Battery in them.

'Ah' refers to Ampere hours, or most specifically, how long you can expect the battery to last. A 5Ah battery will last significantly longer than a 3Ah or a 4Ah batter found in competitor bikes.

What does that mean? More fun. More riding time between charges. Count on 60-90 minutes of party before a nap.

Let's talk brushless motors. Tell me about brushless motors.

First - let's talk Brushless vs. Brush motors. Honestly, most e-bikes are brushless motors these days, but if you're comparing against the competition, make sure they are, too!

Brushless motors are significantly more efficient, require less maintenance, last longer, operate quieter, and provide better overall performance compared to brushed motors, thanks to their design which eliminates the need for wearing brushes, resulting in a smoother and more reliable ride experience.

Do KITbikes have brushless motors? You better believe it.

Ok, but can we really get into Voltage?

Sigh, ok.

Both the 12" and 16" models of KITebikes come with 36V motors.

When we talk about voltage, we're talking about torque and acceleration - how fast does the bike speed up, AND how fast will the bike go.

A 36V motor would be considered pretty good - for an adult bike (specifically a commuter bike). It would be considered awesome for a kid's bike.

Now, before I tell you this, remember that there's THREE modes you can lock out the bike on - slow, medium and fast. But, with that being said, 36V is going to give this bike the ability to go faster and speed up quicker than a 20V bike.

Talk to me about brakes.

The rear brakes are DISC brakes. The are NOT front brakes.

DISC brakes generally offer superior stopping power and better heat dissipation compared to drum brakes.

Just so you know, DRUM brakes are more cost-effective and durable, often used on the rear wheels of vehicles for everyday use due to their lower maintenance needs.

Thank you for coming to my brake Ted Talk.

Steel fork?

Yes, dad - steel fork. Durability over everything else here.
